Costco 2021 Annual Report  A Service leader

I have attached a link for the Costco 2021 Annual Report for their Fiscal Year ending August 29. 2021. I have highlighted in yellow my comments. Will take you only a few minutes to read my yellow highlights. 

Sales were $192 billion with $5 billion in profit. 300,000 employees across the globe. They have 828 locations as of December 31. 2021.

Costco understands quality, price, speed, and everything is guaranteed. They are Relentless.  I am an executive member out of 25.6 million  The average sales per warehouse is $217 million. In October I bought 3 Spider sweaters for $29.99 each. In Vail, I would pay $125 for the same sweaters. 

In May 2003 I invested $9,000 in nine service leaders. Costco was one of those firms. It is now worth $23,374 as on December 31. The stock of Walmart which owns Sam's Club a direct competition of Costco is only $3,774.  Sam Walton founded Walmart based on price and customer service. In 2000 Walmart dropped its focus on superior customer service but Costco has remained Relentless. The annual dividends exceed $500 on my $1000 investment at Costco. Charlie Munger age 97 is on the Board of Directors. He is Vice-Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett's company. Warren is 91. I personally see no benefits or upside to retiring.
